Rico launches an innovative restaurant concept

Mood Street Food has officially opened its doors on March 5, 2020. Together with friends and family, sports colleagues and Eindhoven insiders, the restaurant was opened. The evening was dedicated to the refined Asian cuisine and the proud owners: top chef Eveline Wu and kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven. Mood Street Food offers a rich menu with different specialities from Asia and is located in the city heart of Eindhoven. The restaurant on the Nieuwe Emmasingel offers 150 seats and features an open and fresh look where Asian culture has been translated into the interior in a playful way. Guests can enjoy the beautiful rice dishes, noodles and salads with quality meat or fish and vegan alternatives. Mood Street Food is open to the public as of today.

Great and affordable food

This new Eindhoven hotspot is a fast-casual restaurant that serves healthy high-quality Asian Fusion dishes at an affordable price. Wu and Verhoeven believe that healthy food should be accessible to everyone. The menu includes the famous ‘Buddha bowls’ and ‘Pad Thai’. Rico’s favourite dish is also on the menu, his signature meal ‘Chicken Rico’. With a special takeaway section, Mood Street Food makes it easy for people at home to enjoy the dishes from the restaurant as well.

For Rico, the step towards its own hospitality formula makes sense. It fits perfectly within his ambitions after his sports career. “My main focus is still on my sport, but I want to make a start on a foundation for my career after kickboxing. I can bring my culinary experiences from many trips I’ve made and my ideas about good but healthy food to the Dutch. I think it is important that healthy food is tasty and accessible to everyone. When I met Eveline in one of her restaurants, I was genuinely surprised at the quality of the food and her ideas to make that accessible to everyone.”

Eveline on cooperation with Rico: “He is the personification of accessibility for me, but above all of vitality. He is a top fit athlete but at the same time a true epicurean. He has seen a lot of different cuisines in the world and has creative ideas about a healthy lifestyle. I can bring his ideas to life in the culinary field. Simple but healthy Asian food. In addition to our restaurant, we will have a takeaway corner where people can grab freshly made meals that you can take out and eat at home. So it’s accessible to everyone.”
