Verhoeven’s first leading roll in action packed ‘Black Lotus’

First announced by The Hollywood Reporter in 2018, Black Lotus finally hits the big silver screens today, April 13. It’s been a life long dream for Verhoeven to become a Hollywood actor and this certainly brings him closer to that milestone.
Black Lotus, co-produced by Verhoeven and SeiSei Management with Capstone Pictures in association with Dutch FilmWorks, known for blockbusters like Hitman’s Bodyguard, stars Verhoeven in leading roll opposite of Frank Grillo (Captain America, Avengers: Endgame). Verhoeven’s character Matteo is an ex-special forces operative wages a one man war through the streets of Amsterdam to rescue his friend’s daughter from the local crime syndicate.
Last Monday, the world premier took place at the famous Tuschinski Theater in Amsterdam with a star studded red carpet event.
