Thomas van den Belt is set for a new chapter in his career. The 23-year-old midfielder has signed a four year contract with FC Twente, joining from Feyenoord after spending last season on loan at Spanish side CD Castellón.

At Castellón, Thomas played an impressive campaign in La Liga 2, featuring in 39 matches and scoring six goals. Before his move to Feyenoord, he came through the youth system at PEC Zwolle, where he made his Eredivisie debut in 2020. He went on to play 79 matches and score 19 goals for the club. His loan spell in Spain proved to be an important stage in his development, showcasing his qualities as a dynamic, allround midfielder.

With his move to FC Twente, Thomas joins a club he knows well, not only through his father Gerald’s past as Twente’s director, but also from growing up around the Grolsch Veste and its loyal supporters. Now, he has the chance to write his own story in Enschede.

Together with Thomas, we look forward to this exciting new step and wish him every success at FC Twente.
